BTHO MIZZOU...November 24, 2012!!

Well if you haven't already figured it out, that is our wedding day. I know, I know the RSVPs just plummeted. It is a sad reality that our wedding now conflicts with the Aggie Football schedule. In our defense when we booked Seekatz Opera House this summer Texas A&M was still projected to be a member of the Big XII Conference, meaning the Aggies would be playing the longhorns on Thursday November 22, 2012 at 7pm on ESPN, but now everything has changed. My hope is that we will play at 11am that way people could even go to the game and make it in time to celebrate our wedding. If my luck is not so great and the game is at 7, I would like to reassure all Aggies that we will find a way to show the game, mostly to ensure that all the men do not leave for the bars down the street and that my husband will not be grumpy. Regardless its going to be a great day.

325 Days To Go

It is officially 2012 which means we are getting married in 11 months. Although it seems so far away the last 10 months we have been engaged have gone by so quick. We have taken our engagement photos and I am so happy with the way they turned out! College Station friends I highly recommend Lauren Bertoldo with LuLu Photography she is great and very a We also had a wonderful engagement party at the Hofbrau in San Antonio, although it was a little chilly we all had a great time. It is almost time to go back to school and that means wedding planning may be put on the back burner until I graduate in May. I would also like to let everyone know I have been accepted to the graduate program that I needed to be in to become a teacher. I take my certification test on January 28th. The spring will bring all kinds of changes, but it is going to be a GREAT year.

13 months to go!!

I must say my aunt was right when she that blogging was difficult. I always forget to update it. So here is what's been happening...

1) We have booked a caterer, but the menu is not set. We did talk about doing a kid friendly option and I really like that. We did decide on the maroon linens!

2) I am going to look for a dress again next weekend. I may have found the right one, but I need to try a few more on.

3) Miles and I are taking our engagement pictures in two weeks! I have been hard at work on our awesome save the date props, but I can't post them just yet.

4) Our engagement party invitations are going out around November 1st.

Best news of the day though, I got an email from the Knot telling me we have 13 months to go and I have already completed all the tasks!

Here is an example of the invitations for the engagement party. I did block out our names and the contact information for safety reasons, but you get the point. I am going to take out our middle names and my aunt is ordering some awesome maroon and white twine to replace my yarn.

Save the Date!

We have officially set the reception venue! The date of our wedding will be November 24, 2012. Yes Thanksgiving weekend next year. We decided to go with Seekatz Opera House in New Braunfels, TX. The ceremony spot is still up in the air, but we are making progress. With less than one year left of school and a little over one year to finish wedding planning... it is time to get serious. Here are some of my ideas.

Wedding Venues Part 2

The countless places to get married in and around San Antonio have been overwhelming to sift through. Miles and I started with almost 30 potential places and we have looked at about 10, including two churches.  We have finally narrowed it down to two places and I am just waiting for him to have time to get home to go look at them.

Option 1: We get married at my church (Shown below) and have the reception at Los Patios ( you can see pictures at www.lospatios.com)

Option 2: We get married at First Protestant in New Braunfels. (www.firstprotestant.com) and have the reception at Seekatz Opera House.  (www.seekatzoperahouse.com)

Despite the recent blow up of my Facebook profile about wedding things not much else has changed. Memorial Day weekend I did go try on a few more wedding gowns, but the perfect one is still out there.

We are planning on making the final decision on a venue when we are in town Labor Day. That is also when I will announce the date.

Sorority Ring Pass

I have been slacking lately I know! But now that school is out I can update the blog. So this ring pass happened over a month ago, but I decided to post a few pictures. So this is how it works, when a member of  our sorority get engaged, she gets a floral arrangement, I made mine, with a candle in the center and we pass it around the entire chapter while we sing a song. At certain times a girl that is asked by the one engaged, steps out and reads a story. I had the help of my roommate Amanda, our friend Caroline, my big sister Lindsey and my friend Sarah. Once it goes a round one time the girl it belongs to blows it out. These are the pictures!
